De-weeding while getting some sun.
Luke 5:4-6;
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “No go out and where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish. “Master, Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so , I’ll let the nets down again”. And this time their nets were so full full of fish, they began to tear!
Sometimes we get discouraged when we put a lot of effort into something and we see little results. Sometimes it does not make sense at all, but we just have to trust God. He is working through it and just know that He is bigger than any circumstance. This story reminds and reassures me of how important it is to be obedient to God.
The Law was given to us to bring joy and fulfillment to our lives. In order to receive that joy we must obey His word and His commandments. It’s a choice. Choosing to obey Him because of the price He paid for us. They are not rules. Being a true follower of Christ means being in alignment with Him. It doesn’t mean followers of Christ are perfect…it just means we choose to live accordingly to His will. I love verse 37 in Matthew.
Matthew 22:37 (NIV) Jesus replied, you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.
This commandment is so powerful because it’s a reminder. A reminder to be all in for God and not just in times or trouble or when we encounter storms in our life. We should be thanking him all the time for all that we are blessed with. He is constant and won’t just pick up and leave like some earthly people in our lives do. He wants us to engage in a deeper relationship with Him and seek Him out. He blesses those who are obedient to Him. It’s a greater gain because God knows what is best for us and He cares. It requires trust and surrendering which isn’t always easy. Trusting Him means that He is in control. Let Him be in the driver seat and see what happens. If we trust God, we can be in agreement with Him. He will take us where we need to be and direct us in life.
